North County Depth Finders Species Meet

May 19th, 2024

Location: Pour House, Oceanside, CA

Weigh-in 5:00pm sharp. Must check-in by 5pm!

The event was designed to emphasize the diversity of the local fishery and encourage sustainability.

The meet is a species meet format; you can weigh in ONE of each species that are listed on the tournament rules below. The more species you shoot, the better you do. Unlike a weight tournament, this tournament focuses on your ability to shoot a variety of species. The tournament will feature a kayak/shore division as well as a boat division. No boundaries, unless prohibited by California State or International Laws. Fish must be taken with pole-spear or speargun.

OFFICIAL RULES:

Upon arrival at weigh-in please declare Boat or kayak/shore division.

Tournament time sunrise - 5pm the day of Tournament.

All competitors must have checked in by 5pm or they will be disqualified.

Scoring:

10 points per species plus 1 point per pound up to 20 pounds. Maximum score of 30 points per fish.

The Weigh-Master has the option NOT to count a fish he deems unsuitable for any reason.

Competitors may only weigh in the following species.

ONE FISH FROM EACH SPECIES” to count toward the Tournament score, no weighing of multiple fish to decide what one will count.

Fish must be permitted and meet or exceed official California state regulation measurements to count toward their total tournament score. If the fish does not appear on this list, it cannot be weighed.
